HELMETS FOR ARIYAH
Ariyah, an 8th grader at Marcy Open School in Minneapolis, died in a horrible skateboarding accident in the fall of 2020. A helmet might have changed the outcome and saved her life. Helmets are important and her mom and classmates want to encourage everyone to wear a helmet. Helmets for Ariyah began with a helmet drive organized by Marcy students in memory of their classmate. With the help of the Parents’ Council, students were able to purchase 75 helmets and donated them to Be A Boarder. Ariyah’s family is passionate about promoting helmet use and skateboarding safety and has generously committed to supplying helmets to Be A Boarder indefinitely. BAB is honored to partner with Ariyah’s family.
We love working with organizations, of all sizes in an effort to help them contribute to the skate community and the time is now to help the kids shred. Recently one of our BAB ambassadors, Matt Larkey organized a truck drive and board build event at his workplace, AMI Consulting Engineers which yielded 65 complete decks, but it doesn’t stop there. We can tailor an event to suit your needs for larger team building activities as well. Like when we partnered with 100s of Medtronic employees to assemble the 200 complete decks they had so graciously donated.
Would you like to organize a board build with your group or organization to help us prepare complete skateboards to distribute to youth in your community?
